Tracey D. Miller is a native of Buffalo, New York, who made Rochester her home for almost 30 years. She is a passionate and driven entrepreneur whose life’s calling is to connect the community with opportunities that can improve their quality of life. Tracey took this passion and established Tracey D. Miller Associates LLC, a project development and management company, where she is the Principal and Managing Director, specializing in community and faith-based engagement.
Tracey is a multi-faceted businesswoman whose faith, distinctive career path, and lived experiences have afforded her an undeniable skillset of community relations and building partnerships. She has more than 14 years in government service; during her time, she brought “government to the people” of Rochester, directly impacting lives through educational programs, career opportunities, and other transformational information, services, and resources.
Tracey is a champion of numerous innovative, governmental, community good programs and initiatives. She played an instrumental role in providing housing and unemployment assistance to City residents during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. She spearheaded and organized the distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to essential workers and houses of worship. Tracey also partnered with City and suburban clergy to petition the state of New York to release safe reopening guidelines for faith-based institutions.
Tracey has a proven track record of leveraging diverse stakeholders such as clergy and faith-based entities, community organizations, social groups, local chapters of Panhellenic Black fraternities and sororities, colleges, universities, and corporate partners.
Tracey has the distinct honor of being the first African-American woman to serve as an Assistant to the Mayor for the first African-American woman Mayor of Rochester, New York, Lovely A. Warren, Esq. In that role, Tracey established and managed the Mayor’s Office of Constituent Services, an office designated to meet the unique needs of more than 200,000 Rochester residents.
Tracey was presented with the Key to the City of Rochester, the highest honor a Mayor may give a person, for her dedication and untiring efforts to improve the lives of the Rochester community.
In 2005, Tracey served as the project manager and grant writer for the Corn Hill Neighbors Association, when she led a more than $100,000 playground installation at Rochester City School Dr. Alice Holloway Young School of Excellence.
Tracey has maintained an active on-air radio presence in the Western New York region.
For more than five years, you could hear Tracey on 103.9 WDKX FM radio during the Saturday morning program “Memory Lane”, providing listeners with weekly updates on City government programming. She also worked at NBC affiliate WHEC News 10 in Rochester, New York.
While earning her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Buffalo State University, Tracey was an announcer at 93.7 WBLK FM radio in Buffalo, New York. She would later work at 550 WGR AM radio as a Weekend News Anchor and Reporter and at the former Tri-State Christian Television affiliate station, WNYB, as a Guest Coordinator producing “Ask the Pastor” and “Public Report.”
Keeping the community informed and her desire to connect the community to opportunity is Tracey’s passion.
